Caregiver Resources from Nick Farinella, Hospice Promise Social Worker

Caregiving is undeniably challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. There are many supportive organizations to consider reaching out to. Hospice Promise’s Social Worker, Nick Farinella, LMSW, shared a few resources and organizations that offer caregiver support.

💜 Area Agency on Aging: This nonprofit organization offers services for older adults, caregivers, and those with long-term care needs. They connect families with programs like Meals on Wheels, legal resources, and more. https://www.aaaphx.org

💜 Benevilla & DUET: Benevilla (West Valley) and DUET (East Valley) offer companion volunteers, home improvement services, transportation, and support for caregivers. They also provide workshops and events. https://benevilla.org and https://duetaz.org.

💜 Foundation for Senior Living (FSL): FSL supports older adults as well as those with disabilities or dementias through adult day centers and care activities. https://www.fsl.org

💜 Hospice Promise’s Resource Assistance Program (RAP): RAP offers support for those facing life-limiting illnesses or disabilities. Our team works with patients to connect them with community resources, aiming to improve quality of life. (https://hospicepromise.com/resource-assistance-program/).

💜 Local Churches: Check with local churches for support. Many churches assist people in need regardless of membership status.  We hope some of these resources can help. If you or a loved one is facing a life-limiting illness, please reach out to Hospice Promise to see how we can support you.
